Solarmer is targeting three major applications areas for plastic solar panels: consumer & portable electronics, building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), and smart fabrics. By 2015, the combined revenues of these markets are expected to be over half of a billion dollars. The most attractive area in the short-term is portable electronics, where there is a clear need for an alternative or supplement to existing battery technology.
